Lexington Medical Center Moves COVID Vaccination Site

Posted

One of Lexington County’s most reliable COVID-19 vaccination sites is moving to a new location.

Starting Monday, Feb. 28, Lexington Medical Center’s vaccine clinic will operate from 139 Summerplace Dr. in West Columbia, the location of one of the hospital’s outpatient surgery centers where Lexington Medical has already been operating a drive-thru COVID testing facility.

Through the end of this week, the vaccine clinic had been operating out of Brookland Baptist Church. The clinic will close on Sunday, Feb. 27, to prepare for the move, but will be open Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m.

In its new location, the vaccine clinic will be open Monday-Saturday, 8 a.m.-noon. Lexington Medical is currently administering first, second and booster doses of the Pfizer-BioNTech (available to ages 5 and older) and Moderna (available to ages 18 and older) vaccines. Patients ages 5 to 15 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.

Appointments are available (and can be made at lexmed.com/covid), but walk-ins are welcome.

“To date, Lexington Medical Center has administered more than 110,000 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine,” states a news release about the move. “The hospital is thankful for all the support it has received from the community during the pandemic as it works to keep our community healthy and safe.”
