A family fight in Lexington led to a man stabbing and killing his brother, police report.

On July 31, Lexington Police officers were dispatched to the Victorian Lakes mobile home park located at 4801 Sunset Blvd. around 3:22 a.m. due to a disturbance, according to a release. Upon arriving they discovered a man lying dead in the driveway.

Per the release, it was discovered that several family members were involved in a physical fight, with the man who died being stabbed with a knife by his brother. The brother in question remained on the scene and was taken in for questioning.

The release states that detectives are working to piece together what happened leading up to and during the fight.

Neither the suspect nor the victim have been identified.

“It is believed that multiple witnesses were outside of the residence during the incident and that they left after the stabbing,” the release adds.

The mobile home park is located behind Carolina Medical Equipment, just down from a Hilton Garden Inn and Suites along Sunset Boulevard/U.S. Highway 378 coming into Lexington off Interstate 20.

Lexington Police noted via social media that the homicide took place in Phase 1 of the development.

“[State Law Enforcement Division] Crime Scene and Lexington County Coroner’s Office are assisting our investigators in this investigation and the roadway near the scene will be closed for several hours,” the department posted at 6:45 a.m.
