For the second straight year, Lexington girls’ basketball has won the Junior Varsity Division of its Christmas Classic.
Led by Player of the Game Kate Mills’ 10 points, the JV Lady Wildcats defeated Westwood 38-19 in the Dec. 20 final. They jumped out to a 7-0 lead and after a brief run by the JV Redhawks maintained a double-digit lead through the second half.
The Lady Yellow Jackets made it a clean sweep for defending Classic champions with their victory over the Lady Cavaliers.
Lindsay Garner scored 16 points and Jenna Yanity had nine for the fourth ranked Lady Wildcats who lost their second in three games at the Classic.
The Lady Foxes won the Christmas Classic bracket for the second straight year.
Taylor Spencer scored 16 points and Ahleira Leaphart had 11 in the loss for the sixth-ranked Lady Indians.
