MTC Foundation honors scholarship recipients, donors

The Midlands Technical College Foundation recently honored scholarship recipients and the donors who support their education during a president’s reception at Senate’s End in Columbia.

Students, donors, college leaders, faculty and staff members and friends of MTC came together to celebrate student achievement and the role philanthropy plays in student success.

“The President’s Reception brings together the people at the heart of our scholarship program —our donors and our students”, said Tom Schlictman, associate vice president for philanthropy and CEO of the MTC Foundation. “The event gives donors the opportunity to see the difference their generosity makes and reminds students that people in this community believe in their potential and are invested in their success.”

The reception recognized scholarship recipients for their determination and academic pursuits while thanking the individuals, businesses and organizations whose generosity helps students pursue their career goals. It also provided an opportunity for donors and students to connect personally and see the difference scholarship support makes.

“Behind every scholarship is a student with a goal and a donor who believes in that student’s potential,” said Greg Little, president of Midlands Technical College. “We are grateful to our donors for helping open doors to education and opportunity, and we are proud of our scholarship recipients for the dedication they bring to building a brighter future for themselves and their families.”

The MTC Foundation welcomes gifts from individuals, alumni, businesses and community partners interested in supporting scholarships and expanding opportunities for students. To learn more about supporting the MTC Foundation or establishing a scholarship, contact Schlictman at  803-732-5239.
