NATIONAL NIGHT OUT AT LEXINGTON SQUARE PARK TONIGHT, AUG. 6

Lexington Police Chief Terrence Green would like to invite all Town of Lexington residents and families to the National Night Out event which will be held on Tuesday, August 6at the Lexington Square Park, which is located at 205 East Main Street in Lexington.

The annual National Night Out event will begin at 5:30 pm and end at 8:30 pm and is free of charge for those who attend.

National Night Out is an annual community building campaign that happens nationwide on the same evening to promote positive law enforcement and neighborhood relations along with a crime prevention component.

There will be fun for all ages at this year’s National Night Out with hamburgers and hotdogs from Hardees, inflatable play areas, face painting, balloon art, dancing, laser tag, local mascots, train rides, emergency vehicles on display and much more.

As an added feature to this year’s event, the David Ruffin Experience and Friends will be performing a musical concert beginning at 7 pm with tributes to The Temptations with David Ruffin and Gladys Knight with Rose Marie Moore, old and new school country music with Presley Aaron, local recording artist Christou DaKeeng with MC Sly-B and Dr. E on the music and microphone.

Those attending the event are encouraged to find parking in public parking lots such as the Town of Lexington Municipal Complex, the Lexington County Courthouse and Lexington County Administration building. Those who park in private parking lots take on the risk of being towed at the owner’s expense.
