Friday — Aug. 11

Johnny & Heidi Bulford (concert)
Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce) concludes its 2023 Nashville Nights concert series with a performance by Johnny and Heidi Bulford. Johnny Bulford is a multi-platinum songwriter who has penned hits for Lee Brice and Chris Young, and Heidi has had her own success, landing three singles in the Top 100 on the country charts. Purple Martin Tour
If you’re a nature lover, you’ll enjoy the Purple Martin Tour at Jake’s Landing (220 Jake’s Landing Rd.). This intimate, six-person cruise will allow you to see thousands of purple martins up close and enjoy an evening on Lake Murray. The cruise runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m., and tickets are $50 each. Let’s Get Loud: Battle of the Bands
Head over to the Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) for Let’s Get Loud: Battle Of the Bands. Enjoy an evening of live music as rock/jazz group The Reggie Sullivan Band, straight-ahead rock ‘n’ roll band Civil Remedy and country/pop trio Natalie & the Boys go head-to-head. This event is a fundraiser for The Fisher House, which supports veteran families from around the state. Showtime is 6:30 p.m., and admission is $15. Interstate Exiles (concert)

JaVonne Jones (concert)
Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia) presents “An Evening Of Rhythm and Songs,” featuring electric violinist JaVonne Jones and vocalist Tara Claitt. Expect to hear hits and classics by Whitney Houston, Anita Baker, Chaka Khan, Beyonce, Jill Scott and more. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., showtime is 8 p.m. and tickets are $40. Dressy attire is required. Training Camp
Watch some intense competitions and have some fun at Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce) as it presents a Training Camp session. Special guests F45 Training and a group of college football players team up against each other in live football-related games. It will be an evening of entertaining competitions, opportunities to get autographs from the players and live music. This event is free to attend, but Steel Hands Brewing will be donating a portion of the craft beer pint sales to Camp Cole, whose mission is to create a place to shine for children, teens and adults facing serious illnesses and other health or life challenges. Detest the Throne (concert)
Head to New Brookland Tavern (122 State St. in West Columbia) for a show from Charlotte band Detest the Throne. High School Musical Drag Brunch

Learn about services provided by the local business community, from tourism programs to activities in the area. City organizations will also be present so attendees can learn more about local events.
