Friday — Aug. 25

Wolfman String Band (concert)
Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor (710 Meeting St. in West Columbia) presents a performance by the Wolfman String Band. The group plays a combination of jam-band and bluegrass music, and they start the show at Bill’s at 8 p.m. Admission is a $10 donation. Visit billsmusicshop.com for more information.

Vandell Andrew (concert)
Join Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia) and saxophonist Vandell Andrew as they host “A Night of Sax, Soul & Rhythmic Grooves.” Expect to hear hits and classics by Janet Jackson, Grover Washington Jr., Chaka Khan, Ginuwine, Bill Withers, SWV and more, including Andrew’s own charting-topping originals. Cash Money Experience (concert)
Join Savage Craft Ale Works (430 Center St. in West Columbia) for a performance by the popular local variety band Cash Money Experience. The four-piece band plays a mix of R&B, beach, shag, Motown, jazz, and their own originals. The band begins at 7 p.m. and the show ends at 10 p.m. It is free to attend. Killer Beez (concert)
Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce) hosts a performance by the veteran Chapin band Killer Beez. The five-piece group, which plays music from five decades and multiple genres, relies on tight vocal harmonies, guitar and keyboard riffs and a high energy rhythm section. Expect to hear classic rock, new and traditional Country, Southern rock, blues, 80’s rock, funk, beach music, oldies and more. Showtime is 6 p.m and ends at 10 p.m. The show is free to attend. Rent-A-Chick
Grab the kids and head over to The FARM (1127 Corley Mill Rd.) for a unique event called Rent-A-Chick. The FARM’s laying hens hatched on Aug. 7, and they have an exciting opportunity for a few families to care for these chicks. The program includes 3-week-old chicks and all of the supplies that families will need to care for them for two weeks. Stop by The FARM starting at 10 a.m. to pick your chicks. Admission is $25. Ensemble Eclectica (concert)
Conductor and Musical Director Suzanna Pavlovsky and her Ensemble Eclectica group present “Thank You For The Music: From Our Hearts To Yours” at the Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College (7300 College St. in Irmo). This evening of live music, dance, media and unique visual arts features a 15-piece orchestra, tango, ballet and contemporary dance pieces, vocal performances and much more. NBT Market

Food Truck Friday
Visit the REI Co-op Parking Lot (corner of Bull St. and Colonial St. in Columbia) on Aug. 25 for the City of Columbia’s final Food Truck Fridays event of the season. Enjoy treats from Bruster’s Real Ice Cream, Barn Bites, and Smoke It Up from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Prices vary from food truck to food truck but the event itself is free to attend. Ridge Spring Farmer’s Market
The Ridge Spring Civic Center (900 W. Main St.) hosts the Ridge Spring Farmer’s Market on Aug. 25. Main Street Latin Festival
Head over to downtown Columbia for this year’s Main St. Latin Festival: “Endorsed by the City of Columbia, the purpose of the Main Street Latin Festival is to showcase the culture and vitality of Columbia’s Latin community. Solfest Rollfest
The NoMa Warehouse (2222 Sumter St. in Columbia) presents the third annual Solfest Rollfest event on Aug. 26.
