Friday — Sept. 1

David Glymph (concert)
Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia) and saxophonist and bandleader David Glymph present “A Night of Sax & Soulful Grooves.” Expect to hear hits and classics by Floetry, Musiq Soulchild, Stevie Wonder, Sade, Grover Washington, Jr., Boney James, Kirk Whalum, and many more. The King James Boys (concert)
Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor (710 Meeting St. in West Columbia) hosts a performance by Upstate quintet The King James Boys. The band plays a mix of classic bluegrass and beloved gospel tunes starting at 8 p.m., and admission is a $10 donation. Visit billsmusicshop.com for more information.

The Abbey Elmore Band (concert)

Saturday — Sept. 2

Cash Money Experience (concert)
The Skyline Club (100 Lee St. in West Columbia) deviates from their normal country-themed shows with a performance by the Irmo quartet Cash Money Experience. The popular variety band plays a huge selection of soul and rock hits from the ‘70s to the ‘90s starting at 10 p.m. General admission is $10, and there are VIP tables available for $20. The Market at Icehouse
The Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) hosts The Market At Icehouse. The market is intended as a farmer/grower and local artisans market that uses a community-friendly atmosphere to promote, support and encourage local production, while educating citizens on the benefits of eating local, fresh produce and supporting local artists. Radio Source (concert)
Wings & Ale of Lexington (154 Ellis Ave.) presents a performance by the Columbia tribute band Radio Source. Enjoy an evening of ‘80s and ‘90s hits and classics. Showtime is 8 p.m., and this show is free to attend. Visit wingsnaleoflexington.com for more information.

Watch Party — USC vs UNC
Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce) hosts a watch party for the Gamecocks’ football opener against North Carolina in Charlotte. All taproom TVs will be playing the game with the sound on, and there will be a game-day wing basket special on offer and a Garnet & Cocky speciality cocktail and the brewery’s Sandstorm Gameday Lager among the options to drink. The free event starts at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday — Sept. 3

Pop Up Kitty Cafe
West Columbia cafe The Hideout in Weco (118 State St.) becomes a cat cafe for a day. A $5 donation (which go directly to caring for the kittens attendees will have the chance to pet and hang out with) is required for entry. BC and His Amazing Friend Herbie Jeffcoat (concert)
Stalwart local musicians BC Villanova and Herbiew Jeffcoat perform a duo show at LJ’s Par & Grill (381 Pilgrim Church Rd.). The event goes from 7 to 10 p.m. Call (803) 356-4653 for more info.

Cro-Mags (concert)
New Brookland Tavern (122 State St. in West Columbia) hosts a show from the legendary New York hardcore punk band the Cro-Mags. This highly influential band, one of the first to combine punk and thrash metal, plays with BRAT, Brass Tongue, Warfare Check and Reviler starting at 6 p.m. Admission is $20 in advance and $25 at the door. Harvest Holistic Market
Join Flora & Fauna Marketplace (4773 Sunset Blvd.) as it hosts the monthly Harvest Holistic Market. Vendors, healers, readers and artisans are on-site, and Flora & Fauna will also host a food & supplies drive. Attendees are encouraged to bring non-perishable food, school supplies, or wellness supplies to be donated to the Greenwild Spiritual Foundation. Carolina Bluegrass Style (concert)
Hazelwood Brewing Co. (711 E. Main St.) presents another edition of the Carolina Bluegrass Style” concert series. The series presents some of the most talented local and regional bluegrass musicians around, in a casual, laid-back setting. Showtime is 7 p.m., and the show is free to attend. Cat5 (concert)
Head to the Icehouse Amphitheater (107 W. Main St.) for a show from the popular beach music band Cat5. Ryan Perry (concert)
The Downtown Market Pavilion (1326 Russell St. in Orangeburg) hosts a performance by singer-songwriter Ryan Perry on Sept. 1. Perry plays a mix of his own country-music originals and covers starting at 6 p.m. This show is free to attend.

Captain Midnight (concert)
The Highfields Event Center (118 Gaston Rd. in Aiken) hosts another entry in the Aiken Music Festival on Sept. 2. Join the Mississippi band Captain Midnight as it performs its unique brand of “waterbed rock” starting at 7 p.m. Admission is $15. Visit aikenmusicfest.com for more information.

First Sunday
The S.C. State Museum (301 Gervais St. in Columbia) hosts the monthly First Sunday program on Sept. 3. On the first Sunday of each month, general admission to the museum is $1, which includes all four floors of South Carolina art, cultural history, natural history and science/technology, including the Boeing Observatory and the Robert B. Arial Collection of Historical Astronomy located on the fourth floor. For an additional price, guests can enjoy a planetarium show and/or a 4D theater movie. Dinosaur Jr. (concert)
The Senate (1022 Senate St. in Columbia) presents a concert from the classic, critically-acclaimed proto-grunge band Dinosaur Jr. on Sept. 6. The group, led by singer/songwriter/guitarist J.
