Thursday — July 13

Meeting Street Artisan Market
Head over to the Interactive Art Park (425 Meeting St. in West Columbia) for the monthly evening verison of the Meeting Street Artisan Market. The market includes vendors selling original art, crafts, foods, and produce. Support local vendors and interact with the unique sculptures throughout the park. The market is free to attend and runs from 4 to 8 p.m. on the second Thursday of each month. (The weekly daytime market takes place Saturdays from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.). Friday — July 14

Rod Foster & Sway (concert)
Chayz Lounge (607 Meeting St. in West Columbia) hosts a performance by singer/guitarist Sway alongside the popular Columbia jazz-soul band Rod Foster & Company. Expect to hear hits and classics by Maxwell, Stevie Wonder, Prince, Brandy, The Isley Brothers and many more. Showtime is 8 p.m., and admission is $25. Dressy attire is required. Murders and Mysteries Lexington Walking Tour
The Lexington County Museum offers a walking tour of downtown that will feature stories about “murders, trials, and other crimes that occurred on Lexington’s Main Street in the 19th and early-20th centuries.” The event goes from 8:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. and is free and no reservations are required. Lone Hollow (concert)
The Nashville Nights summer concert series at Steel Hands Brewing (2350 Foreman St. in Cayce) rolls on with a performance from The Lone Hollow. The Nashville duo of Damon Atkins and Rylie Bourne mix blues and Southern rock music and bluegrass harmonies. Showtime is 6 p.m., and this event is free to attend. The Millhands (concert)
Bill’s Music Shop & Pickin’ Parlor (710 Meeting St. in WEst Columbia) is the place to be on Friday night if you’re a fan of bluegrass. The Columbia quintet The Millhands perform, bringing a repertoire of bluegrass classics and originals along with them. Showtime is 8 p.m. and admission is a $10 donation. James Brickey (concert)

The Terence Young Experience (concert/dinner)
Join the Brookland Banquet & Conference Center (1066 Sunset Blvd. in WEst Columbia) for a performance by Columbia guitarist Terence Young and his band, The Terence Young Experience. This event, called “An Evening Of Gospel Jazz & Dinner” does indeed also include a full meal with ticket price and a night of jazz and gospel classics from Young and his band. Midsummer’s Crafters Market
Flora & Fauna Marketplace (4773 Sunset Blvd.) hosts The Midsummer’s Crafters Market. Throw on your best Renaissance-era attire and enjoy a market full of fine artisans, crafters, makers, bakers and more, plus live music, food and photo opportunities. Tuesday — July 18

Toucan Tuesday
Bring the kids to the Riverbanks Zoo & Garden (500 Wildlife Pkwy.) for their Toucan Tuesday night. Guests visiting the zoo will receive buy-one get-one admission to the park and buy-one get-one Icees with a donation of two non-perishable food items. Purple Martin Tour
If you’re a nature lover, you’ll enjoy the Purple Martin Tour at Jake’s Landing (220 Jake’s Landing Rd.). This intimate, six-person cruise will allow you to see thousands of purple martins up close and enjoy an evening on Lake Murray. The cruise runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m., and tickets are $50 each. Wednesday — July 19

Skoid (concert)
The electro-industrial project Skold, led by Swedish musician and record producer Tim Skold, performs at New Brookland Tavern (122 State St.). Joining the band for this show are Clockwork Echo, GRIMM and The Amatory Murder. Showtime is 6 p.m., and tickets are $15 in advance and $18 at the door. Thursday — July 20

South Congaree Rodeo
Head over to the South Congaree Rodeo (395 Oak St.) for the first night of the South Congaree Championship Rodeo on July 20. Come watch the bulls buck and the riders try to hang on for that precious eight seconds. The rodeo kicks off at 7:30 p.m., and tickets cost between $14 and $45. The event continues July 21 and 22. Storytime in the Garden
The Richland Library and staff from Historic Columbia will gather at The Hampton-Preston Mansion & Gardens (1615 Blanding St. in Columbia) on July 18 for Storytime in the Garden. Bring the kids and enjoy songs, stories and other activities in an outdoor setting. This event begins at 10 a.m. and is free to attend. Blythewood Farmers Market
Head over to Doko Meadows Park (171 Langford Rd.) for the Blythewood Farmers Market on July 19. Wild Wednesdays
Bring the kids to Sesquicentennial State Park (9564 Two Notch Rd. in Columbia) for their Wild Wednesdays event on July 19. Explore and discover many of the plants and animals that call the park home. Each week the program will explore a different topic and uncover fascinating secrets of the forests and wetlands. This event is for children 6 to 12 years of age, and children must be accompanied by an adult. Wild Wednesdays runs from 10 a.m. to noon, and admission is $5. Lake Carolina Farmers Market
The Lake Carolina Farmers Market returns to the Parkside Center (5 Vendue Ln. in Columbia) on Thursday, July 20th. Shop for fresh, seasonal produce and plants, artisan food and crafts, and much more in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. The market runs from 3 to 7 p.m. and is free to attend. Palmetto Palate
The State Museum (301 Gervais St. in Columbia) hosts the 2023 edition of The Palmetto Palate on July 20. An annual fundraising event for the SC Farm Bureau, The Palmetto Palate takes chefs from local restaurants and pairs them with farmers from across South Carolina to create tasty food that brings the farm-to-table movement to life. There will also be a silent auction with local products donated by Farm Bureau members and County Farm Bureau offices. The Palmetto Palate event begins at 6pm and tickets are $60.
