The Trevor Lawrence era has come to an end at Clemson University.
On Wednesday, the Tigers’ quarterback officially announced on Twitter his plans to enter the NFL Draft. Early prognosticators have Lawrence going in the Top 2, which are the Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Jets.
Lawrence tweeted out a 2 minute, 30 second video titled “Thank you, Clemson” reflecting on his time at the school. He was 34-2 with 3 ACC titles and a national championship along with numerous team records.
"I hope my legacy at Clemson is that I was a great teammate and a great person, overall. More than football, more than how I played each game - just how I treated people I want that to be the main thing that I'm known for," Lawrence said in his announcement.
Lawrence finished 2nd in voting for the Heisman Trophy behind winner Alabama’s DeVonta Smith. He and Deshaun Watson are the only Clemson players to be named finalists for the trophy.
